Grace turns 10 months...

At 10 months old Grace has 'graduated' over to eating all table food! One day she just decided that she didn't want baby food anymore and we weren't going to put up a fight about it. She loves pretty much everything and really enjoys feeding herself. When I should have blogged this (over a week ago) Grace wasn't crawling, but this week she has finally decided to crawl! Time to baby proof the house! I think it may have to do with the fact that she is going to Miss Rosa's a few days a week where she sees all her friends moving around and she wants to join in :) Grace continues to be a silly girl. She loves to laugh and likes finding ways to make mommy and daddy laugh. She has become very curious about EVERYTHING! Grace points at everything and calls it 'buh' or 'dah'. She also reaches out to touch everything around her. We can't believe you are already 10 months old, Gracie Girl! We love you!

Eagle River, Wisconsin

The whole gang

On Friday we got back from our week long vacation to Eagle River. We vacationed with my mom's side of the family and as you can see there was quite a lot of us. Our vacation started with an EXTREMELY packed car. I seriously didn't realize how much we packed for Grace until I sat in the passenger seat and turned around to see nothing but "stuff" and a lot of it at that! We did use everything that we packed and brought so I guess that is good. Grace did absolutely wonderful with the 6 hour car ride. Thank goodness for portable DVD players! We arrived at Wild Eagle Lodge in the late afternoon, so after unpacking and settling in we enjoyed some yummy pizza for dinner with everyone. The first night was a little rough for Gracie, but after that she slept great. Here is a picture of our condos that we stayed in. We were all in a row on the first floor with patios, which was very convenient. Me, Bryan, and Grace stayed with my parents and brothers.

The above picture is a view of the lake from our condos. We were just a quick walk away from the lake and our boat. We were in the secluded area of the Lodge, which was very nice and quiet until night time came and we were all out there probably driving the people above us nuts. Each morning started bright and early for us and since Grace is pretty loud in the mornings, we fed her breakfast and then left to go for a nice morning walk. Grace has always loved her walks, but she really seemed to enjoy these walks. She would look at all the trees, watch the scurrying chipmunks, and listen to the birds...it really was so peaceful. We rented a pontoon boat for the week and Grace seemed to enjoy the boat rides. She also got to drive the boat with Papa!

The Lodge had an indoor pool that we took Grace to a couple times. This was her first time in the pool and she seemed to like it. She enjoyed sitting in her raft and kicking her legs. There was also a baby pool with little fountains that Grace liked to put her hands on. Between the daily walks, boat rides, and swimming Grace had her fill of activities and wound up taking amazing naps. I pretty much had to wake her up from each nap. Grace also had her first lake experience. I am not a fan of getting in lakes, but I did it for Grace! The water was chilly, but it felt nice with the hot sun beating down. Grace also enjoyed sticking her toes in the sand.

We had such a fun time on this vacation and feel so blessed that we were able to spend a lot of quality time with family. They all love Grace so much and she really is a lucky little girl to be so incredibly loved. We left a day before everyone else and it seems that was meant to be. Our last day there Grace started running a fever. Her fever continued for 3 days and then came the rash. After doing some research and talking to the nurse at the doctors office, it seems that she has Roseola. Thankfully this sickness came on as our vacation was coming to an end and Grace is now starting to feel better.
