Elfie has arrived!

It's that time of year again, where Santa is making his list and checking it twice. One of Santa's elves, Elfie, has been sent from the North Pole to watch Gracie and make sure that she is being a good girl. Elfie heads back to the North Pole every night to report to Santa and returns in silly places around our house the following morning. Gracie looks for Elfie and then says, "Good Morning" to him, but we don't touch Elfie because he is magic. Remember Gracie...Elfie is watching, so be a good girl!

Happy Thanksgiving

Grace had been looking forward to our Thanksgiving 'Party' for a couple weeks now, so she was more than delighted to wake up Thanksgiving morning knowing it was the 'Big Day.' She was also VERY excited to wear her special Thanksgiving dress.

Thanksgiving was spent with my mom's side of the family this year. We haven't seen most of them since this summer, so it was nice to visit and catch up with everyone. We had a huge Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings, but what was most important (to my mom :) was that EVERYONE sat together and we passed the food family style. The arrangement was a success and quite a scene to see...just look for yourself at the picture.

We are thankful, not just on Thanksgiving, but each and everyday for the healthy, loving family that we have surrounding us. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their families.

30 weeks

Well, I am a tad bit behind, but here is the 30 week and 32 week update. Everything looks good with the baby. The heartbeat is strong and the baby is quite an active one, which is good. It is definitely more active than I remember Grace being. Last night Bryan and I were just watching my belly move. You can fully see the jabs now. With just about 8.5 weeks to go, we are heading towards the home stretch. My goal was to have the nursery done by December 1st and it is pretty much completed. We have started stocking up on diapers, wipes, and other odds and ends and there is a full laundry basket of bibs, burp rags, onesies, and blankets that are waiting to be washed. So as you can see, we are getting there! I was also able be a part of the interview process this past week for my maternity sub. I wasn't given this opportunity with Grace, so this was a unique experience that I am grateful my principal let me be a part of. Once the maternity sub is decided then I will start working on all the sub plans. We are getting closer!

Big Girl Bed!

This weekend we made the transition from crib to big girl bed for Miss Gracie and so far it has been a success! We have had the furniture for quite some time because we took advantage of a good sale that Pottery Barn was having. The furniture has been in the baby's room, but just in its boxes. Grace would go in there each day and point out that it was her 'big girl' bed, so we knew she was excited. My parents took Grace for the night on Friday so we could start reorganizing and moving all the furniture into the baby's room. When Grace came home from my parents on Saturday we took her up to her room to reveal the big surprise. She was SOO excited! She was running around, touching everything and wanting to get up and down off her bed. So apparently she liked her new room, but the big question would be if she stayed in it for bed time. We took her through her normal bedtime routine and she fell right to sleep. We didn't hear a thing from her all night. Nap time today went well too! Hopefully this smooth transition sticks!

28 Weeks

I am closer to 29 weeks than 28, but better late than never. I had my 28 week appointment a bit ago and there is nothing new to really report. The baby's heart rate is good and I am measuring where I should be at this point. The uncomfortableness is starting slowly creep in.  My lower back and sciatic nerve are starting to bother me and the shortness of breath and getting winded easily has finally hit.  Even going up and down the stairs some days feels like a workout! I also feel like I am always hungry, but I can't eat a lot at a time so I tend to snack all day long. It is also starting to get a little harder to carry Grace. I will carry my sweet girl though for as long as I possibly can! These are all part of the pregnancy process though :)  I have my 30 week appointment at the end of this week and from then on I will be going to the doctor every 2 weeks...that's a crazy thought because it means the end is approaching!
