Grace is 5 months old!

Happy 5 months to our Gracie Girl! At 5 months old Grace is sleeping 12 hour stretches every night. She really is a good sleeper and usually goes down for naps and bedtime without any problems(although as I am writing this she is upstairs crying and not wanting to sleep). She is napping 3 times a day, so our next adventure is to work on getting rid of that 3rd nap. We just have to work on building her awake time stamina. She just recently is able to stay up for 2 hour stretches.

Gracie continues to be a good eater. She gets into such a relax mode now when having her bottle. She usually likes to caress our face, rub her hair, or cover her eyes with her arms as she eats. She still doesn't like taking a break to burp, but she seems to give me the most trouble with that. She doesn't seem to throw a fit with Bryan or my mom. Grace loves her cereal and prunes! The minute she sees her bowl and spoon she flexes her legs, widens her eyes, and starts saying "mmmmm, mmmm." We just introduced squash the other day and that was a success so soon she will try carrots, sweet potatoes, and green beans.

Now that Grace is able to stay up longer during the day, playtime is much more interactive. She loves her three main play activities; play yard, bouncy seat, and the recently added exersaucer. She is easily entertained by herself, but really loves it when someone joins her for playtime. We have now hit the point where she is putting everything in her mouth and Grace loves just chewing on her fingers. She doesn't take her binky anymore, but prefers her fingers. She usually doesn't suck her two middle fingers unless she is tired and just relaxing. Grace loves when we sing to her, especially Twinkle Twinkle and The Wheels on the Bus. I need to learn some different nursery rhymes though because the repetition everyday is getting to me.

We are so in love with our little Gracie Girl. She brings us such joy and excitement everyday. There is nothing better than coming home to her smiles after a long day at work.
